Task
For our work on the Adidas AE4D, the majority of the granular concepts Adidas was aiming to capture could not be shot in camera. Through a series of CG builds, as well as particle and liquid simulations, we were able to get inside the process of what it takes to make these custom soles.
Our Approach
Here our intention was to visualize this technology in entirely new and exciting ways. We developed and designed compositions inside the capture software to help the viewer get a sense of the data that was being analyzed to create this custom sole. During the 3D printing process, we built a CG rig that provided an otherworldly view of the printing process from inside the liquid. We wanted to show the moment when the sole is born and venture where the real cameras could not.
